Master of Science in Medical Technology (International Program)

The Master degree in Medical Technology is designed to produce highly competent scholars and professionals capable of upgrading the academic development and new technology in the field of medical technology and other health-related fields in order to find solutions for the public health problems of the country and to improve the quality of life of the people. In addition, graduates will promote study and research work in order to develop better clinical laboratory services. The faculty has a broad spectrum of expertise and provides training opportunities in a wide range of disciplines.These include hematology, clinical microbiology, virology, immunology, clinical biochemistry, host-parasite interactions, and free radicals in biology, regulation of gene expression and genetic study, molecular biology, medical laboratory equipment and imaging technology.

Master of Science in Radiological Technology (International Program)

The Master degree in Radiological Technology aims to produce highly competent scholars and professionals that will lead in upgrading the academic advancement and new technology in the field of radiological sciences and technology in order to find solutions for the healthcare problems of the country and to improve the quality of life of the people. Major learning and research components of the program include medical image processing and manipulation, professional based research to solve clinical problems including safety optimization, Monte Carlo simulation, Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS), Advanced image processing and simulation, and dosimeter development using organic and inorganic materials.

Admission Requirements

Plan A1 (M.Sc. by research only) A candidate must:

1. Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology, Radiological Technology, Health Science or other related discipline with a minimum GPA 3.25.

2. Pass the English Proficiency requirement anouced by the Faculty of Graduate Studies.

3. Have at least 1 year working experience in related field.

4. Have published an article in the field of Medical Technology, Radiological Technology or other related field.

5. Exemption from the above conditions may be granted by the Program Committee under exceptional circumstances.

Plan A2 (M.Sc. by research and course work) A candidate must:

1. Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology, Radiological Technology, Health Science or other related discipline with a minimum GPA 2.50 or

2. Be a final year student in Medical Technology, Radiological Technology, Health Science or other related discipline with a minimum GPA 2.50.

3. Pass the English Proficiency requirement anouced by the Faculty of Graduate Studies.

4. Exemption from the above conditions may be granted by the Program Committee under exceptional circumstances.

  • Philosophy

    The Master of Science in Medical Technology programme (International Programme) is to encourage those medical technologists who require progressing their academic knowledge and new technology in the fields of medical technology, general and medical sciences in order to solve the public health problems and improve quality of life of the people.

  • Objectives

    The goals of M.Sc. in Medical Technology are to encourage the students for admiring knowledge achievement, self-study and research in the broad areas of medical and biological sciences. The faculty has a broad spectrum of expertise and provides training opportunities in a wide range of disciplines. These include hematology, clinical microbiology, virology, immunology, clinical biochemistry, host-parasite interactions, free radicals in biology, regulation of gene expression, molecular biology, medical laboratory equipment and imaging technology.

    Graduates from this programme should be able to :

    1. apply the given knowledge and technology to improve and develope their achievement in medical technology and related sciences,

    3. search and create research works in order to develop better clinical laboratory services,

    4. transfer and exchange the academic knowledge and skills in medical technology and related sciences with others.

  • Curricula

The curriculum structures are specified as Plan A (1) and Plan A (2). Plan A (1) is the curriculum for M.Sc. by research work only, whereas both course work and research work are required for Plan A (2).

  • Graduation Requirements

    1. Plan A (1) Students must :

2. Receive a cumulative GPA of at least 2.5.

3. Pass the English Proficiency Examination offered by the Faculty of Graduate Studies, Mahidol University, or other qualified institutions, or have a TOEFL score more than 173/500.

4. Exceptions to the above items may be made by the Programme Committee and the Dean of Faculty of Graduate Studies.

5. Image analysis in radiology2. Receive a cumulative GPA of at least 2.5.

6. Development of PACS system.

7. Radiation effect on Immune system.

8. Research on Application of Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) and DICOM

  • Registration

1. Students must register as full time students.

2. The registration must not be less than 9 credits, but not exceed 15 credits per regular semester, or up to the recommendation of the advisor.
