The Doctor of Philosophy Programme in Medical Technology of the Faculty of Medical Technology is the international programme that aims to encourage the student’s ability in seeking their own ways of learning and researching for the innovations. The programme is enriched by the vibrant research and academic. The programme emphasizes fundamental knowledge, advanced technology, knowledge integration together with cutting-edge research designed to equip graduates with strong academic and research competencies in order to be innovative change agents and make the largest possible impact for global needs.

The programme provides advanced courses and researches in a broad range of disciplines in medical technology and related sciences. The Faculty collaborates with leading universities and institutions both nationally and internationally. Almost all of the students have the opportunity to take some course works or part of their researches at oversea collaborating institutions.

In addition to the academic and research competencies, our Ph.D programme has produced scholars with eagerness for life-long learning and individuals who are capable of thriving in this ever-changing and globalize world. As such, our graduates have enjoyed pursuing careers in wide variety of setting including academia, research, profession, the private sector and in government service and business sectors.

วัตถุประสงค์

เป้าหมายของการผลิตดุษฎีบัณฑิตทางสาขาเทคนิคการแพทย์ มุ่งเน้นการสร้างนักวิจัยและการสร้างองค์ความรู้ใหม่ทางด้านวิทยาศาสตร์การแพทย์  และวิทยาศาสตร์ชีวภาพ คณาจารย์ของหลักสูตรประกอบด้วยผู้ทรงคุณวุฒิหลากหลายสาขาวิชา  เพื่อเอื้อโอกาสให้นักศึกษาสามารถเลือกทำงานวิจัยได้ตามความถนัดและตามความต้องการ  เช่น  งานวิจัยทางด้านโลหิตวิทยา  จุลชีววิทยา ไวรัสวิทยา  วิทยาภูมิคุ้มกัน  เคมีคลินิก  ความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างสิ่งมีชีวิตกับปรสิต  อนุมูลอิสระ  การควบคุมการแสดงออกของยีน  และอณูชีววิทยา  เป็นต้น ดุษฎีบัณฑิตที่สำเร็จจากหลักสูตรนี้จะเป็นผู้ที่มีความรอบรู้และความสามารถ ดังต่อไปนี้

1  วิเคราะห์และสังเคราะห์ข้อมูลเนื้อหาสาระทางวิชาการทางด้านความรู้พื้นฐานและความรู้ที่เกี่ยวข้องกับห้องปฏิบัติการทางคลินิก

2  สามารถศึกษาค้นคว้า  ติดตามความก้าวหน้าทางวิชาการอย่างต่อเนื่องโดยอาศัยเทคโนโลยีที่ทันสมัย 

3  ประยุกต์ใช้แนวความรู้ความคิดทางด้านวิทยาศาสตร์กับงานวิจัยด้านต่าง ๆ ได้เป็นอย่างดี สามารถ    สร้างสรรหรือนำเสนอโครงการวิจัยและทำงานวิจัยได้ด้วยตนเอง

4  สามารถใช้ภาษาสากลในการติดต่อสื่อสารในระดับนานาชาติได้ทั้งการพูด การเขียน การถ่ายทอดและ    แลกเปลี่ยนทักษะทางวิชาการในสาขาเทคนิคการแพทย์ และวิทยาศาสตร์ที่เกี่ยวข้องกับผู้อื่นได้

    • สำเร็จการศึกษาหลักสูตรปริญญาโท สาขาวิชาเทคนิคการแพทย์หรือสาขาอื่นๆ ที่เกี่ยวข้องโดยได้ แต้มระดับคะแนนเฉลี่ยสะสมไม่ต่ำกว่า 3.5

Scientific methodology in biological science research. The principles of statistics in designing and analyzing data from experiments, probability distributions, estimation, hypothesis testing, chi-square test, regression and correlation analysis, non-parametric statistics, and use of statistical packages. Working systems of various types of weighing balances using in clinical laboratory. Functional details of balancing beam parts. Standard condition calibration and weighing practice using digital electronic powered balances, maintenace, cleaning and solving of trouble-shootings.

(Clinical Microbiological Instrument)Development and product generations of microbiological instruments using in clinical laboratory; sterile machine, freeze-drier, histological section machine, refrigerated centrifuge, automated bacterial identified instruments etc. Theoretical and practical study of main functional parts, both mechanic and electronic, instrumental adjustment, maintenance and solving of trouble-shootings.

Theoretical and practical study of functions of electronic switching, specific property of the whole circuit, construction of logic-gated circuit, memory unit circuit, and central processing unit. Functional study of each composition in the microprocessor and computer and scientific instruments application.

MTID 603 Clinical Laboratory Service 2(1-4)

Visit and/or practice in clinical laboratory of both government and private sectors to gain knowledge of performing laboratory procedure of high complexity, learn to make critical decisions and problem solving within realistic constraints, to gain experience on laboratory administration and to get the ability to integrate, synthesize, and apply the knowledge in clinical laboratory correlation for supervision in laboratory work.

Principle of electrochemistry and others involved in biosensor development. The usage of biological substances together with electrochemistry and other relevant equipments, the technique of immobilization for different biological substances and transducer surfaces, the development of biosensor for clinical chemistry applications, the application of microcomputer in controlling of biosensor and data processing, and also the novel technology in biosensor development.

Current advanced knowledges in clinical microscopy both in theory and practice will be studied by lecture, laboratory practice, presentation, self-study and discussion. Theory involves pathophysiology, recent knowledges and technologies of hematology, immunohematology and various topics in clinical microscopy. Medical important fungi, recent identification and problem solving. The application of new techniques and concepts has contributed to understanding of diagnosis, prognosis and follow-up of diseases associated with fungi and application of antifungal drug detection.

MTMI 606 Current Methods in Clinical Microbiology 2(1-2)

Newly developed techniques in clinical microbiology and immunology and diagnosis at the molecular level. Application of molecular biology and molecular genetic towards the diagnosis and prognosis of infectious diseases.

MTMI 607 Molecular Experimental Technique in Microbiology 2(1-2)

Principles and experimental techniques for molecular research in microbiological analysis, experimentally relevant aspects of genetic engineering and hybridoma techniques. Significance of gene immobilization, production of microbial products, preparation of recombinant chimeric enzymes and chimeric antibody.
