Faculty of Medical Technology, Mahidol University, Showcases Success in “Capacity Building” at “Mahidol University International Partnerships Week 2025”

December 16, 2025 – Assistant Professor Dr. Chotiros Plabplueng, Dean of the Faculty of Medical Technology, Mahidol University participated in the “Mahidol University International Partnerships Week 2025,” held under the theme “Global Synergies for Sustainable Impact: Advancing Holistic Well-being and Partnerships for the Goals.” The Dean presented the faculty’s international success story in a showcase titled “Capacity Building.”

During the event, the Dean of the Faculty of Medical Technology presented a showcase on “Capacity Building,”highlighting the success of the “Capacity Building for Sustainable Future in Developing Regions” project in Indonesia as a case study. This presentation demonstrated the Faculty of Medical Technology, Mahidol University’s proactive role in driving regional public health systems, carried out in collaboration with public and private partners. The presentation emphasized a model of success based on three key areas:
• Strengthening the potential of Medical Technology professionals and developing laboratory quality standards to elevate local healthcare service systems.
• Cultivating and building a network of Change Agents in Indonesia to achieve sustainable national laboratory quality improvement.
• Integrating collaboration between the educational sector, government, and international organizations to reduce the gap in health inequalities./span>

The “Capacity Building for Sustainable Future in Developing Regions” project leverages the knowledge and expertise of the Faculty of Medical Technology, Mahidol University, to build the capacity of Change Agents in Indonesia. The project is supported by The Rockefeller Foundation, the Global Partnerships Division Mahidol University, and PATELKI (The Indonesian Association of Medical Laboratory Technologists). Support is provided through training, network strengthening, and the creation of a Community of Practice (CoP) for sustainable expansion./span>

This project profoundly demonstrates the Faculty of Medical Technology, Mahidol University’s (MUMT) success in strengthening regional public health capacity and laboratory quality standards, establishing the faculty as a regional leader. The initiative has created a scalable model for multi-country capacity building while simultaneously fostering high-trust international partnerships that deliver real, measurable, and sustainable national-level impact./span>

This success story further reaffirms the role of the Faculty of Medical Technology, Mahidol University (MUMT), as an academic leader that not only focuses on excellence but also serves as an international contributor by building strong Networking for the future health security of the region./span>

In addition, Asst. Prof. Dr. Rujira Wanotayan, Assistant Dean for International Relations and Corporate Communication, participated in the Speed Dating activity, which provided a platform for discussion and exchange of perspectives with partner universities. The activity aimed to explore new avenues for collaboration while strengthening existing partnerships in disciplines aligned with the Faculty’s areas of expertise. She also took part in the Information Sharing Session, which offered partner institutions the opportunity to present their institutional profiles, policies, and educational directions.>

The event was attended by executive administrators and representatives from 17 international partner institutions, namely Durham University, Florida International University, Institute of Science Tokyo, Kunming Medical University, Macquarie University, Nanjing University, National Cheng Kung University, National Taiwan University, Shanghai Medical College, Fudan University, Seoul National University, The University of British Columbia, The University of New South Wales, University College Dublin, University of Cape Town, University of Reading Malaysia, University of Southern Queensland, and the University of Sussex./span>

This event aimed to strengthen networks and foster relationships with leading global institutions, support the development of joint academic programs, promote research collaboration, and facilitate student and staff exchange initiatives, while enhancing Mahidol University’s international profile and global engagement./span>

The showcase took place at the Mahidol University Alumni Association Meeting Room, 2nd Floor, Siriwattanaphakdee Building, Mahidol University, Salaya./span>
