On 26 February 2026, the Faculty of Medical Technology, Mahidol University, led by Assistant Professor Dr. Chotiros Plabplueng, Dean, along with the executive team and staff, attended the 24th Thailand Quality Award Ceremony 2025 (Thailand Quality Award: TQA 2025). On this occasion, the Faculty was honored with the Thailand Quality Class (TQC) Award 2025. This recognition represents a continuation of the Faculty’s achievements and reaffirms its unwavering commitment to continuously advancing organizational management standards since first receiving the award in 2021. The award was presented by Mr. Nattapol Rangsitpol, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Industry.
This accomplishment is the result of the Faculty’s sustained strategic transformation. Since 2012, the Faculty has adopted the Thailand Quality Award (TQA) framework as a guiding compass for organizational management. Rather than focusing solely on documentation for certification purposes, the framework has been utilized as a reflective mechanism to assess actual performance, identify development gaps, and establish robust management systems. This approach has fundamentally transformed the organizational mindset, fostering integration across all missions, strengthening synergy, and cultivating a quality-driven culture in which personnel at all levels are aligned toward shared goals.
The implementation of an excellence-driven management system has enabled the Faculty of Medical Technology, Mahidol University to advance its operations across three key strategic dimensions:
1. Strategic Synergy: Systematic integration of processes has strengthened organizational agility, enhanced efficiency, and enabled the Faculty to deliver on all missions with speed and precision while responding effectively to societal needs.
2. Global Standards: The Faculty has elevated the quality of its education and services to internationally recognized benchmarks, including ASEAN University Network Quality Assurance (AUN-QA) and ISO systems, thereby reinforcing global confidence in its institutional capabilities.
3. Innovation for Real-World Impact: The Faculty has transformed its role toward becoming a Regional Hub for medical device innovation and regional laboratory quality standards, generating tangible positive impact across social and economic dimensions.
The highest value of receiving the Thailand Quality Class (TQC) Award 2025, a national quality distinction, extends beyond recognition of current performance. It serves as a testament to the Faculty’s institutional readiness and the strength of its personnel—characterized by resilience, adaptability, and the capacity to sustainably navigate future challenges. The Faculty of Medical Technology, Mahidol University remains committed to nurturing this culture of quality as it advances toward its ultimate aspiration: to be a model institution in the professions of medical technology and radiological technology at international standards, generating knowledge, innovation, and services for the sustainable benefit of society.
The Thailand Quality Award is a prestigious accolade that is widely recognized as a hallmark of excellence in organizational management, comparable to world-class standards. Its technical foundation and evaluation processes are aligned with those of the Baldrige National Quality Award (BNQA) of the United States, which serves as a prototype for national quality awards adopted and adapted by numerous countries worldwide, including Japan, Australia, Singapore, and the Philippines.
