During October 12–15, 2025, Assistant Professor Dr. Chotiros Plabplueng, Dean of the Faculty of Medical Technology, Mahidol University, together with Assistant Professor Dr. Prasong Khaenam, Assistant Dean for Academic Services, visited the Kingdom of Bhutan to participate as international experts in the curriculum review of the Bachelor of Medical Technology program at Khesar Gyalpo University of Medical Sciences of Bhutan (KGUMSB) — the country’s first undergraduate program in Medical Technology.
In addition, the delegation visited Khesar Gyalpo University of Medical Sciences of Bhutan, Jigme Dorji Wangchuck National Referral Hospital, and the Royal Center for Disease Control (RCDC) to discuss potential collaboration in various areas, such as curriculum development and academic program enhancement, short training courses for upskilling and reskilling healthcare professionals in Bhutan, and academic activities to strengthen laboratory quality systems./span>
During the visit, Assistant Professor Dr. Prasong Khaenam was also invited as a guest lecturer to deliver a special lecture on “Implementation of Internal Quality Control (IQC) Monitoring Using Six-Sigma According to CLSI EP24.”/span>
The Mahidol delegation received a warm welcome from university administrators, institutional representatives, and over 30 Bhutanese alumni of Mahidol University. The visit also included discussions on future collaboration to advance the implementation of the existing Memorandum of Understanding between the two institutions./span>
