The Doctor of Philosophy Programme in Medical Technology of the Faculty of Medical Technology is the international programme that aims to encourage the student’s ability in seeking their own ways of learning and researching for the innovations. The programme is enriched by the vibrant research and academic. The programme emphasizes fundamental knowledge, advanced technology, knowledge integration together with cutting-edge research designed to equip graduates with strong academic and research competencies in order to be innovative change agents and make the largest possible impact for global needs.
The programme provides advanced courses and researches in a broad range of disciplines in medical technology and related sciences. The Faculty collaborates with leading universities and institutions both nationally and internationally. Almost all of the students have the opportunity to take some course works or part of their researches at oversea collaborating institutions.

Admission Requirements
Plan 1 (Ph.D. by research only)
1. Graduated in Master degree in Medical Technology, Radiological Technology, Health Science other related discipline from academic institute approved by the Office of Higher Education Commission with cumulative grad point ≥ 3.5.
2. Pass the English Proficiency requirement announced by FGS.
3. Have at least 1 original research publication or academic work in peer reviewed international journal.
4. If an applicant does not meet the above criteria but has other suitable qualification and experiences, applicant may be considered to apply for admission under the program committee.
Plan 2 (Ph.D. by course work and research)
1. Graduated in Master degree in Medical Technology, Radiological Technology, Health Science or other related discipline from academic institute approved by the Office of Higher Education Commission with cumulative grad point ≥ 3.5.
2. Graduated Bachelor degree in Medical Technology, Radiological Technology, or other related discipline with honor, from academic institute approved by the Office of Higher Education Commission.
3. Pass the English Proficiency requirement announced by FGS.
4. If an applicant does not meet the above criteria but has other suitable qualification and experiences, s/he may be considered to apply for admission under the program committee

The Doctor of Philosophy Programme in Medical Technology is the international programme that aims to encourage the student’s ability in seeking their own ways of learning and researching for the innovations. The programme provokes into an active learning process of the students via goal oriented activities, problem solving, individual experience sharing and searching for new information via information technology. Research and publication on the thesis work in an international standard journal are also included.
- Objectives
The goals of Ph.D. in Medical Technology are focused to prepare the effective researchers and innovating researches in the broad areas of medical and biological sciences. The faculty has a broad spectrum of expertise, which can provide training opportunities in a wide range of disiplines. These include hematology, clinical microbiology, virology, immunology, clinical biochemistry, host-parasite interactions, free radicals in biology, regulation of gene expression, and molecular biology.
Graduates from this programme should be able to :
1. Analyse and synthesize the concepts both in basic and clinical laboratory sciences.
2. Search and updated for new knowledge continuously through new technology.
3. Apply trends of knowledge and concept in sciences to various areas of research effectively. Create or present research proposal, organize research works independently.
4. Communicate internationally by both oral and written means. Transfer and exchange the academic skills in the medical technology and related sciences with others.

- Graduation Requirements
1. For Plan 2 (Course works and Research) must pass the course work with G.P.A. not less than 3.5
2. For both Plan 1 (Research only) and Plan 2 (Course works and Research) must
2.1 pass English Examination with a TOEFL-IBT score of more than 61 or TOEFL-ITP more than 500,
2.2 pass qualifying examination and pass oral thesis examination,
2.3 Have at least one publication in standard journals.
