December 16, 2025 – Assistant Professor Dr. Chotiros Plabplueng, Dean of the Faculty of Medical Technology, Mahidol University (MUMT), along with faculty members and staff, participated in the “Mahidol Sustainable Development Expo 2025,” held under the theme “SDGs for Real World Impact: from Campus to Community.” The event took place at the Prince Mahidol Hall, Mahidol University, Salaya.
The event was organized to promote and support the work of faculty, staff, and students who translate the concept of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) into real-world practices that benefit society. The event featured a special address by Professor Piyamitr Sritara, M.D., President of Mahidol University, on the topic “SDGs for Real World Impact: from Campus to Community.”
On this occasion, the Faculty of Medical Technology was selected to receive grants and awards for three projects, with the ceremony being presided over by Clinical Prof. Emeritus Piyasakol Sakolsatayadorn, M.D., Chairman of the University Council of Mahidol University. The grant recipients for MUMT are:
• Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pornlada Nuchnoi received the Policy Lab Funding Awardee for the project: “Integrating Artificial Intelligence with Behavioral Modification to Drive Policy Recommendations for Screening and Control of Iron Deficiency Anemia in Pregnant Women.”
• Lecturer Dr. Prasit Mandi received the Social Engagement Funding Award for the project entitled “Community Empowerment, Health Literacy Enhancement, and Awareness Raising to Sustainably Reduce Sodium Consumption and Slow Kidney Disease Progression in the Community” This project reflects strong collaboration among multidisciplinary partners and emphasizes a community-based approach, empowering community health volunteers and at-risk populations through health literacy, laboratory result interpretation, and nutrition awareness to reduce sodium consumption and prevent chronic kidney disease.
• Assoc. Prof. Dr. Wilasinee Jeungprasopsuk, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kamonrat Phopin, Asst. Prof. Dr. Rujira Wanotayan, Mrs. Kuntida Podang, and Ms. Thanaporn Maneewong received the SDGs Living Lab Funding Awardee for the project: “MUMT: Zero Waste.”
Receiving these three awards highlights the commitment of the Faculty of Medical Technology, Mahidol University (MUMT), to gear to be a model organization of Medical Technology and Radiological Technology with international standards focused on creating knowledge, innovation and services for a sustainable healthcare and benefit of the society. The Faculty systematically integrates specialized knowledge to address health and environmental issues, securing funding for three projects that cover the dimensions of Policy, Social Engagement, and Organizational Sustainability (Living Lab).
